It Comes So Easy For You...

....but does it really? "You are such a strong, confident woman; I don't know how you do it." If I had a nickel for every time I heard this, well, I would have a lot of coins.
If you only knew what happens on the inside. I am just like you; I have my highs and lows, insecurities, doubts.
Battles that I have with myself
Pep talks about getting me through a hard situation
Fits of anger because things don't go the way I wanted them to go
Regrets because I should have done it differently
Whys and what-ifs
I can't
I recently had a great coach to remind me that I have the choice of Owning My Confidence. This reminded me that we are commanded to have confidence. In Joshua 1:9, God tells Joshua that He has commanded His people to "be strong and of good courage, do not be afraid, not be dismayed." The last part of that scripture is just a wonderful promise. If I do this, God promises to be with me wherever I go.
WOW!!!! Mind-Blowing!!!! and easy, right? Wrong!!!!! Did you see my list above? I am so glad that God did not leave me with just that scripture. Yes, He commanded me to be strong and of good courage, but, in my flesh, this is an impossible task. I'm not left here; I can continue to draw confidence from God because of His promise in the book of Isaiah. Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.' Isaiah 4:10
Today I choose to Own My Confidence.
